InformedDNA Welcomes Seasoned Healthcare Executive Dan Lieber as New CEO
Former CEO, David Nixon, Transitions to Executive Chairman Role
ST. PETERSBURG, Fla.–(BUSINESS WIRE)–InformedDNA®, the nation’s leading genetics services organization, today announced that Dan Lieber has joined the company as chief executive officer (CEO) and will also join InformedDNA’s board of directors. David Nixon, a company co-founder, will take a new role as executive chairman of the board of directors. Both leaders will carry on the company’s mission of “democratizing” access to scarce genetics experts and expertise.
Founded in 2007, InformedDNA was the first company in the U.S. to use telephonic services to connect genetic counselors with patients. Since then, it has expanded to provide technology-led genetics services not only for patients, but for healthcare providers, health systems, health plans, and life science organizations.
“Genomics is revolutionizing healthcare, driving the rapid growth in testing and treatments to dramatically improve outcomes. I am so excited to join the talented InformedDNA team and be part of enabling this reality,” said Lieber. “The company is well positioned to improve access to the highest quality genomics expertise throughout the healthcare ecosystem.”
“As a growth sector in healthcare, genomics has the promise to deliver powerful impacts to both patients and providers. Dan’s experience leading disruptive companies, his understanding of the consumer, and his adeptness with data science made him the natural choice to lead InformedDNA in this next chapter,” said Dawn Owens, Chief Executive Officer of TripleTree Holdings and InformedDNA Board member.
Lieber has more than 25 years leading change in organizations and has extensive experience in creating compelling business strategies, driving operational excellence, and building, leading and empowering high-performance teams. He has held senior healthcare leadership positions at AbleTo (now part of Optum), Altegra Health (now part of Change Healthcare), and Universal American (now part of Centene).
“With Dan’s impressive track record of successfully leading healthcare companies and his recognition of how important our mission is to us as individuals and to the company’s success, it’s a true pleasure to welcome him to our team. In the 14 years since InformedDNA was founded, I have seen tremendous and promising changes in genomics’ influence on healthcare. I look forward to my continued, active role in working with the company to implement its aggressive growth strategy that is, ultimately, facilitating better results for patients, healthcare providers, health systems, and health plans, as well as pharmaceutical companies developing new therapies,” said David Nixon, InformedDNA’s new executive chairman.
