Octo Refreshes Brand Following Sevatec’s Successful Integration
Fairfax-based technology provider Sevatec and Reston-based Octo have officially moved forward with newly integrated branding after successfully combining companies.
RESTON, Va.–(BUSINESS WIRE)–Octo, a premier provider of emerging technology and IT modernization services for the Federal Government, announced today that it has completed branding integration with Sevatec. The two complementary companies combined in December 2020, augmenting each other’s capabilities, reinforcing key customer relationships, and blending similar cultures. Subsequently, Octo evolved its brand identity to include a new logo, color scheme, and other elements that point to a joint future while paying tribute to both companies’ legacies.
The companies will immediately begin to operate under the Octo banner.
“We are all extremely pleased with and excited to launch this new brand,” said Mehul Sanghani, Octo’s Chief Executive Officer. “Octo’s evolved brand identity was crafted so employees and customers understand how the best of both organizations was thoughtfully woven into a cohesive message to the market. We believe there is a strong differentiation of our brand within a market that includes both multibillion-dollar aerospace and defense contractors that sell ships and weapons but who also claim commodity-based IT capability, and a sea of niche providers that lack the depth of capabilities or modernization qualifications at a scale that modern government missions demand. Our combined companies, under this new brand, present the premiere pure-play modernization and technology solutions provider to the Federal Government and all of its wide-ranging missions. We build software that empowers exceptional government missions and we do so at a scale and with qualifications and personnel depth that is unmatched in terms of collective ability. We are extremely proud of our efforts, our combined history, and now this new brand and messaging that continue to underscore our commitment to providing customers the best in modernization technology and skillsets the industry has to offer.”
The Sevatec transaction marked a giant leap in Octo’s evolution against a history of extremely impressive growth. The organization has grown every year since its inception and, with the combination, now employs approximately 1,100 skilled employees dedicated to solving complex technical challenges for government customers across the national security, federal health, and civilian marketplaces. The combination of Octo and Sevatec created a highly agile partner to government customers, one that offers innovation, high-touch service, and substantial technical and operational resources. It also created a mid-sized federal IT modernization provider with the scale to compete with much larger system integrators without losing the essential agility and customer focus a smaller company provides. Octo is now positioned to continually offer the best custom innovation, emerging technologies, domain experts, and rich resources to the Federal Government.
“The smooth transition to this fresh, new brand demonstrates our combined company’s ability to flex and grow as we have embraced our position as a pure-play modernization and technology solutions provider to the government’s most challenging technical problems,” said Octo’s Vice President of Marketing Ethan Meurlin. “In our new branding, we worked collaboratively with legacy Sevatec employees to retain many elements of Sevatec’s unique visual identifiers. For example, we crafted a new more contemporary logo that prominently incorporates the arrow from Sevatec’s prior logo. We also embraced the idea of ‘seva,’ or selfless service, that was at the core of Sevatec’s culture into our official values statement. It was important for us to show our customers, partners, and our employees who we are and what we stand for as a unified company, and we believe these new brand elements do just that.”
